To get you started, unless your already started (seems this post is a month old) research Reason 5, Logic Pro, Native Instruments, Cubase, Ableton Live, Acid Pro, Pro Tools, Audio Acoustics, What makes a good speaker, How to acoustily treat your room, How to make a beat etc. You will researching for ages unless taught.
