One of the greatest things about this anime is the underlying Taoist/Zen symbolism. Mugen represents Yin and Jin is Yang. and they somehow get along in a sort of ridiculously chaotic way.

Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho AKA anything on Toonami defined the 90s. This anime defines this decade with Naruto, One Piece etc., though we as people certainly don't deserve it.
