Classic Game Room HD reviews the Atari 2600 driving controllers for use with the video game, Indy 500. What is the difference between the Atari paddle controllers and the driving controllers? Watch this review featuring Stella the Classic Game Room dog. They are very similar of course, but there is a difference. When you find a rare game cartridge like Indy 500, which is an awesome old school retro arcade style F1 Formula One race car driving game, you'll NEED a driving controller to play it! These driving controllers do not work for the Playstation 3 PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii... sadly. Stella the Classic Game Room dog is a cute puppy, she's a German Shepherd Chow Chow mix breed adopted from the Humane Society. She likes Atari, food, chasing rabbits and food. So check out this comprehensive review of the driving controllers vs the paddle controllers with gameplay and footage worked into it. Ideally they will release GT5 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (or the full version in 2009) for both the PS3 and the Atari 2600 with Driving Controller support.

  • It's not the age of the controller, the driving controller has always felt looser than the paddle controller.

  • I pretty much have a rule. If Stella is in one of your videos, I favorite it. Instant reflex.

  • Driving Controllers: Use with Indy 500, and race. lol . These controllers are easy to find, i found my copy for 4 dollars :D

  • Driving controllers rotated around without limit and, as Mark indicated, really only worked with Indy 500. Paddle controllers only turned a certain "distance" in each direction. As noted, it was possible to plug-in 4 paddle controllers.

This was use for the game, Warlords which was actually quite good if you had 3 or 4 players. It benefited from the fact that no AI is as good as a human player (especially in those days) so if you had 3 or 4 people playing at once it could be great fun.

  • I played a horrible racing game when I was about 3 years old, and I only remember a few thing like, the horrible sounds it made, the disgusting colors they used, the awful controls, and you drove up n down, not left to right, also the cars looked so retarded, they had square wheels and then bodies, almost like a capital letter I with 4 squares on it lol. Anyways if you remember this game send me a message. I dont think its indy 500 or grand prix, but I did have grand prix as a kid I know.

  • @superdrewster98 Race is the same game, but it was released by Sears.

  • I wish I had a dog like Stella

  • his dog is so cute.

  • 2:10 what about the game "race"

  • @dreftsnoop thanks for the help
