  • Many thanks... for clearing that up, even I will admit I dont have all the answers, I assumed my infomation was correct and it would appear there is another link in the Deadlands -> Savage Worlds link I didnt know about.

I forgot about Railway Wars since I never played it and no one sold it here in Yorkshire, so never even had the rulebook in my hands let alone models (although I suspect most cowboys models will do)

  • I've been running Deadlands: Reloaded once a week for just short of a year now and I can say that I completely 100% disagree with your comment that Savage Worlds can't hold p to long term campaigns. With the way experience works, even after a year of play and 90 XP (Into the Legendary rank) the players have a lot of room and oppertunity to grow mechanically.

  • Leaving a note to say thanks for this review; it was one of the many youtube vids that convinced me to try Savage Worlds and Deadlands: Reloaded :)

  • One thing... IF you pick up 'Deadlands Reloaded,' be sure to track down the book Errata as there are some crucial issues addressed (essential items missing from the book, etc.) Without the errata, you won't know, for example, that a Shaman begins with 2 Powers (as mention of that was accidentally left out of the book).

  • I remember this game. Whatever happened to that inbred family of sorcerers the whateleys?

  • If you are looking for an Old West game try Aces & Eights, or perhaps get an old copy of Boot Hill. Both are excellent.

  • Thanks for the review was very informative.

Keep meaning to pick up a copy of Deadlands Reloaded. Love the Savage worlds system - have got Solomon Kane and love it.

Been Looking for a western game I can get straight into. Got a couple of d20 ones but really dont like the system much.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Few things...

    1) The 'undead cowboys' are 'Harrowed'...

    2) Mechanically, the original 'Deadlands' system and 'Deadlands: Reloaded' are different enough that you WILL have to convert mechanics (but most monsters and things have already been converted, so it isn't too difficult to substitute).

    3) The rules used in the 'Deadlands' skirmish miniatures game: 'Deadlands: The Great Rail Wars' are the true jumping off point for 'Savage Worlds.' You'll see MANY similarities in that game.

  • Awesome mate! Many thanks for this. Seriously felt mine was very lacking, so cheers! :D

Great Review. I'm looking in to picking up Savage Worlds and Reloaded for my Deadlands forays as I listen ;)
