Do not assume anything, I like that, even more when you are buying not that small thing like a house. Business is business, no room from emotions there. Keeping an house is very dangerous in case of divorce: things like property contentions, rent problems, etc. would be points of hard contention. This was a really good piece of information. Keeping a home within a divorce can be a very dangerous thing. It is a great idea to just get rid of it and split what you make off of it. Like mentioned, it will of course hold memories, but you are leaving your marriage for a reason. It is definitely the safest and most logical thing to do. Switching it to one persons name would also be a bit messy and troublesome, so I honestly believe you should take the first bit of advice.
