  • Am I the only one who noticed a UFO appearing at 3:52 on the background? :)

  • Great vid Brady and scholars!

I bet that was a really fun and interesting trip for you. Thanks for the good images you brought back, and I hope you have more. :)

  • Good to see a new bibledex video, good job brady

Actually, many scholars believe that this is simply an example of anachronism; in other word, the writers screwed up because they were not particularly keen on history at the time. In retrospect this should have been clear considering the rest of Genesis itself...

Oops, i've checked it and it is an early mention of the Philistines

    that i did not recall.

Still - Avimelech is not a Philistine name, and i searched for any

philistine archeologic items mentioned in description of Tel-Sheva,

and found nothing yet. Genesis was written later than the events it describes,

and the author might have figured it was always a Phil. territory.

too far from sea for them, it seems.

    thanks for correcting me. :-)

Genesis 21:33-34 "Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God. And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time."

Well gosh, seems you have found another inconsistency in the Bible!

  • Please don't mix new history with old history-

Philistines belong to a much later era.

Beer-Sheba was NOT Philistine , the Philistines lived on the shore,

    in Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gaza.

Avimelech is not a Philistine name, BTW.
