Ehm, the reloader should check for backblast in 90 degree angle. When it's safe he shouts ready to fire so none get hurt from backblast..

This is a swedish GRG, wich means GRenade Gun , i used that thing for 8 months and i hate it ;)

There is an updated version of the m48 called m86. The main difference is the barrel is made of some synthetic fibermaterial (cant recall what it is) and some of hte other parts are also made from lighter material.
Not sure how common that M86 version is though.

They were firing 'RAP' rounds: Rocket Assisted Projectiles. So the weapon is considered a 'recoilless rifle', but with a RAP round it is, in essence, a rocket launcher as well.
