This is what ends up happening when you try to tame a river. History shows that the mighty Mississippi use to whip back and forth like a garden hose all the way to Texas. I do feel sorry for the people that are being flooded out, but understand why they have done it. My heart is with the people of Louisiana.
That beautiful Moonlight Sonata you are playing was written by a genius named Beethoven. Man's genius created the controls that sometimes must be exercised on nature. Nature is beautiful, I agree. But oftentimes man must control it in its random destruction.
You are funny. When it comes down to the wildlife aspect of this, it's not a big deal. Life lives on as it has everytime it has flooded back there or they opened the spillway. I've been back there for years and have seen the wildlife come back as nothing had happened.
What's with the pic of the eyes crying? LOL. Before the spillway, this was a natural wetland. All this drama over the spillway is ridiculous. Which do you prefer, to leave the wetland alone and allow the river to stress the levees that protect NO or to open the spillway and save human lives? Gimme a break!!! Start crying again because the spillway has been reopened boo hoo!
This made me laugh.... If that levee had never been built, this would still be flooding. When Katrina brought in a 15' storm surge, this flooded naturally from the lake side. This is Mother Nature being mother nature. Life goes on and no one is crying other than you.
Ya better start crying now, since they're opening up the Bonnet Carre Spillway , tomorrow! Gotta do it, ...can you imagine the alternative if they didn't?
