This is a track from the Archeophone Records release, "The High Priestess of Jollity and The Southern Singer" (ARCH 5015) which covers the recorded careers of two of vaudeville's greatest "coon shouters," May Irwin and Clarice Vance - whose very presence on wax record during the years spanning between the years 1905 to 1909 proved that women had the savvy to handle their careers.

May Irwin died rich, whereas Clarice Vance died a pauper, but their legacies endure on compact disc.

If you have any interest in early American musical histories, I suggest you purchase this CD from Archeophone - a company that specializes in 'recordings of the acoustic era' 1890 to 1925.
