Jon Voight vocally expressed his stance on this so he doesn't end up as just another Hollywood drone. Reagan, in one of his speeches clearly admitted he was a Democrat when he was younger but shifted to a Republican when he began to see how Dem politics affected America. I don't get it, isn't the city of rapture a example of where the ownership of any property has gone private leading to its downfall without any stability.
Ayn rand was a objectivist which is know to harbor extreme libertarianism to a point that people believe they are inherently better. Any failure is compared as a leftist belief. Objectivism is far from liberal.

There was one other factor in Rapture as well. No government was one, but also there was no religious constraint either. No government and no God leaves man with nothing to stop from killing himself.
