Thats because Opec pumped up the price in the last year or so, I think Palin is a very sharp politician no doubt, she needs her own light to shine in, she is being handled by handlers who do not have her best intrest in mind only McCain's.

alaska should be around the same price as the lower 48 gas prices like it used to be
Palin has done a lot of good things since shes been in office but at the same time gas and heating prices are way more then should be, some parts of the states fuel is over $8

Im not trying to say Palin hasnt done good things, all im saying is its bigger than her, there are individuals whom are bigger than government and call the shots period, look at opec, only reason why gas is now going down is because the majority had to cut back, they cant afford it.
