The law is so vague, it can be manipulated by those with the most lawyers. Technically it's NOT illegal, or in breech of copyright; but, as you might have seen with the Geohot case, they are legal deviants. The choice to remove otherOS was simply because they didn't want anyone "Modding/hacking" the system, mostly for greedy purposes. The law is OLD, and it only takes one worm to cause an apple to be ruined :'(

well sony said that they removed the other os cause they wanted to improve their "information security" but psn was hacked because of this. Sony could have avoided this by not removing the other os form the system. i dont think that that is the reason why they removed the other os, but i just wanted to say this :P
