@ItsAmadWorld2 its *I heard* vs an encyclopedia and a scholar. yes the bible may be corrupted, but it doesn't mean that all of it is false. It still contains a lot of truth, and that is why the quran tells christians and the muslims to refer to it and to stand firm by it. but also to also exercise caution and ignore the parts that conflict with the quran.
Never heard of the shortened version of "I have heard"? By the way, so you are only saying a LITTLE bit of the Bible is false, not ALL of it? But, doesn't even the Baghavad Gita and Vedas have some truth? Yet, if you stand firm upon them, won't you risk believing in MANY gods, making you perform a sin far worse than rape and murder to Allah...which is "shirk", believing Allah has a partner? But, the Quran doesn't tell us to stand firm upon the Gita, just the before Scriptures (i.e. Bible).
And again, HOW can you have your faith in the Quran increased by asking me about what I've read in the before Scriptures (The Bible), when the Bible is about the atoning blood of a sacrificed innocent lambs for the remission of sins, and, has something far worse to Allah than murder and rape, which is, believing He/They has a Son, Jesus? I mean, if you come to me for my reading the before Scriptures, and, I have, do you find your faith increasing in the Quran like the Quran says will happen?
I mean, HAS your faith in the Quran increased DUE to your coming to me FOR my reading the before Scriptures like that Quranic scripture says? Be truthful, please.
@ItsAmadWorld2 and the quran specifically calls out the bible on that, the fact that Jesus is not the son of god, and i've already given those verses. yes my faith did increase in the quran after reading the bible. when i read the accounts of jesus being born, running from the jews, being a carpenter, praying to god, I KNOW that he was a prophet, NOT a god, and a couple of places that suggest otherwise could easily have been a later inclusion.
@ItsAmadWorld2 let me answer by an example. in medina, the learned Rabbis of the jewish tribes would speak of a prophet from among the Arab people, who would end idolatry. it was upon their descriptions that men from medina recognized muhammad as the prophet and invited him to medina. the point i am trying to make is that interpretations will differ from person to person. of course you cannot expect every mans readings to be valid. but the same exact books guided these learned men.
@ItsAmadWorld2 Gita, Veda, or Darwin, or whatever you can think of can always have any amount of truth to them, the obvious problem is.... that they are not God's word, and the quran is not telling us to stand firm upon them... in fact the quran doesn't mention them at all
