Interesting how Nettles takes his seat on the set just as they go on the air...wonder if that was a one-time thing, or standard?
It's good to hear that 4-note ID again that's at the beginning of this clip...I hadn't heard that in probably 30 years.

You dont' see opening 4 shots anymore. I grew up on this stuff, and when I started in TV news in 2004, I was in for an eye openign.

Wait the annoucer in the KRON 1980's open has been on KGO for 8 years since Pete Wilson Came to KGO in 2002. and this annoucer disappeared from Bay Area TV in the 1990's

It was in the Chronicle or Examiner at the time. I found a blurb about it going through old microfilms of newspapers at SF City College years ago.

That might not have been coincidental. Gannett was attempting to purchase KRON around this time. If only they had succeeded, the station would not be in its present mess!
