I knew the Harvey's... they were friends and neighbors who lived just across the street from our home. Their loss is still keen in our hearts.

A Tribute to Bryan Harvey and his family. This is for Bryan, Kathryn, Stella and Ruby who were taken so suddenly. On New Years day 2006 at 1:41 PM, our lives were turned upside down forever. Our neighbors & friends Bryan & Kathy Harvey and their two young daughters Stella and Ruby who lived across the street from us were brutally murdered and their home was set on fire. You can't imagine the terror, grief and horror we experienced for endless days and nights. But mostly we missed them and have been on a long and winding road toward healing. We are not alone... because the Harvey's touched so many lives and their passing left a large & empty space in the Richmond community and beyond. I created this memorial to honor their lives... the great sorrow of their leaving and the great joy of their living.

  • i couldn't think of a better tribute except the torture and slow killing of the 2 BLACK beasts that did this horrible thing...

  • I shot a video with Bryan and Johnny at the "Metro" in Chicago during the Midnight Oil Tour. Fell in love with their music from the first note. Bryan corresponded with me a few times after that. Still my all time favorite band. Thanks for posting this. Good Job!

  • I found out about this online, while searching for a place to buy House of Freaks mp3s... and coming across this horrible, horrible story instead. What an awful, random end. I don't know anything of Bryan's family, though they look like they were great to know. But I did see HoF years and years ago, in Baltimore... and they were better than great, they were awe inspiring and even life changing. A literary experience as well as a musical one. All passion. RIP Bryan and family.

  • Just a shame that in our world we have " people" who want to destroy beautiful things. This family appeared to be so beautiful and today after reading this story I will never be the same. I hope that heaven exists because if it does they deserve to have front row seats with a lovely cold drink and some fine food and company.Love ian from gold coast australia

  • i've met Bryan and Johnny during a tour with Gutterball in Belgium, and with 2 friends we've been in de cabin to speak with him, it was the stronger memory of concert of my life. I have a very good memory of him and his kindness. I always love his music, miss me. Stephane from Belgium.

  • This was a horrible crime for a family to be killed in that manor. I remember the reports of this on New Years nite...... it was so nice to do this for them, for you must have loved them very much. I read that the only reason the murders picked that house, was because their front door was open, due to a New Years Day annual party. What a crying shame. I can not even imagine it!!!

  • I go to O'Tooles all the time and know the westover hills area well, even seen the harvey home, I believe tomorrow they are executing ricky gray or grey or what ever the animals name is. Hope he suffers when they turn him into a cocktail.

  • theyll get theirs in prison.

  • i have been a huge fan since i discovered this glorious music in '92, the original sounds and lyrics touched me in ways i can't begin to say. his voice and his ability to share himself with honesty was inspiring. i was shocked, horrified and couldn't stop crying when i found out what happened to bryan and his family...it's still difficult to listen to the music sometimes, knowing what they went through and the loss of that incredible music, to say this was a tragedy doesn't begin to cover it.

  • Vicious, brutal, evil monsters...why are they still sucking air for their crimes?
