Great two days mavericking, 8 mile canoe journey (one way) during the summer in Sevylor Colorado heavy duty inflatable canoe to River Thames island. Along the journey portaged around 3 locks westbound from Mapledurham. Along the way show picturesque scenery and things of interest - riverbanks, hills, locks and waterways etc. On island wild camp pitched tarp, four corners attached to trees creating horizontal level, equal height all the way around making a good work/seating space. Could be easily adjusted for inclement weather. Tastey convenient travel food along the way.

  • Hi there, 1st of all LOVE ya vids, I've been planning on getting a Colorado for a while to take my wild camping expeditions to the water, just wanted to ask how it tracks against the flow or on windier days, I was planning on attaching a larger extra homemade skeg to it and wondered if you would suggest that this would be beneficial or if it wouldn't be needed, ps I also have a dog that accompanies me wherever I go so made me laugh when I saw your dog sat in your canoe, keep safe \o

  • @strewter Tracks pretty well considering the beam is quite broad hence creates slightly more traction than a V shape beam hard shell. Too much weight in the rear creates tilt back and the bow swings left/right as you paddle. Adjust/practice paddle technique to reduce swing affect. Comes with attachable skeg although improvised home made skeg can see what works best for you. Canoe/dog/kit/waters....good times. Cheers.

  • At the time of this journey I used a case/baggage folding trolley carrier to transit the packed up kit. I now use a small X shaped folding canoe/kayak trolley with 2 wheels, takes up less room, dismantles and can transit inflated canoe by fixing under hull and pull along the ground. The packed up kit can also be fixed to trolley - same effect as the end of this vid. Cheers.

  • I can't tell from the video. Is that a standard foldable, portable-luggage carrier (trolley)? Or, is it something special that you used to carry the deflated canoe?
