how to root htc evo 4g with ota 2.3.3

for the ones that are haveing problems with the beta key please read this

ok turn your evo on then when it is fully loaded connet it to your pc make sure debug is on then open revolutionary on your pc it will run for like 10 seconds then it will give you your s/n number type that in where you get your beta key from then type the bate key (as you see it and every s/n number makes its very on bate cant be used for any other droid) i had a problem the first time the last letter of my bate was lower case (L) and i thought it was capital (i) (l-I) see cant tell the differences between them the letter O lets all messed up and the number 0 looks like an O in beside your s/n number on revolutionary you have to have the ota 2.3.3 with pcimg hboot 2.16 and s-on if you have any more problems just let me know

follow the steps

1. remove HTC Sync from your computer

2. Install HTC Fastboot Drivers (http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe)

3. Download Superuser (http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2....fgh-signed.zip) and put on your SD card

4. Put your serial number (S/N will be given to you by revolutionary software) where indicated

5. Download the revolutionary-0.4pre3.zip when asked

6. Write down your beta key (given to you by revolutionary web site)

7. Extract revolutionary-0.4pre3.zip somewhere you can find it

8. Make sure you are connected using the HTC Sync option on your phone

9. Check that USB debugging is enabled

10. Run revolutionary.exe from the revolutionary-0.4pre3 folder

11. Input the beta key where requested

12. Selected either Y/n to install recovery (I selected Y)

13. Select Recovery (Use the volume up/down keys to move and power to select)

14. Select install from .zip

15. Scroll down to su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and hit the power button

16. Reboot

====== to install superuser app ======

down load superuser here (http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip) and place in to root of sdcard then follow this step by step

1) remove battery then replace it

2) hold the volume down key and power till it starts to boot

3) now you should see the h boot screen use the up and down volume keys to scroll to recovery and use the power key to select it

4) now your cell will reboot and load in to clockworkmod recovery scroll down to install zip from sdcard

5) scroll to choose zip from sdcard

6) scrool down to su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip

7) then scroll down to Yes - install su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip

8) after done installing just remove battery and restart cell will take a few minutes to reboot

Congratulations you now are rooted and have superuser privileges. Now go find a ROM you like from one of the many talented Chef's out there (Be sure the ROM is for the Evo as ROM's for other devices will not work). Put the ROM on your SD card and boot to hboot (Power on + volume down) and select Recover, select install from .zip, select the ROM and hit the power button.

Be careful as you can do permanent harm to your phone with root privileges. If you need to take your phone to Sprint for repair make sure you flash the stock ROM located at Sprint HTC Evo 4G Shipped ROMs .

i know the video sucks but here are all the links you need and step by step walk trough if this is your first time rooting i would wait for some one else to post a video before trying to root
