Women-owned start-ups are on the rise. Findings from the latest London Annual Business Survey show that one in six businesses in London is now majority female-owned compared with one in 10 three years ago - and they also employ more women than their male counterparts.

In celebration of International Women's Month, the British Library brought together a panel of successful entrepreneurs and businesswomen in fields as diverse as music, science and e-commerce.

Kanya King is the founder of the MOBO awards and one of the most influential women in the music industry.

  • It's not racist - it says 'music of black ORIGIN' i.e. people of any race can be singing it. Political-correctness-gone-mad morons - you're the most racist of the lot. Amen.

  • Though I only slightly agree as I oppose any form of racism ( white or black), we actually had what you are acting to imagine. When MTV was created it ONLY played white artists. The first black artist..... Michael Jackson.

  • she's not even black (unless she has done a quasi michal jackson op) and most of the music they acknlowledge is just street. rock has black origins, do they give rock musicians awards? no.

    mobos is a joke.

mobos constantly relies on american artists who just dont give a beep.

and its not the equivalent of an awards show for white people because wite people do win awards at the mobos.

  • @xquelarx amazing?I dont think so.She is just the whitemans puppet.

  • Amazing woman!

  • She created it because black artists in britain did not have a platform to showcase their talents. What part of that do you not understand?

  • What an inspiration

  • for sure. Not even the artists both to turn up.

Calling it 'Black' music just pisses people off and divides the community.

This woman is a silly racist bitch.

  • no1 fuckin likes da mobos neway, fuck dat bullshit, no point callin it music of black origin neway

  • MTV are shite anyway,i dont like racism either that isnt the issue any way, this awards system only acknowledges one colour of humanity, and that isnt racist is it?
