Final Fantasy VII - Barret defeats Ruby in 4:00 (solo, no level 99, no max stats, no healing).avi

After couple of tries I made my own strategy for soloing Ruby. It doesn't require level 99, max stats. It can be done after you get Mime. I suggest you do it before you breed your own gold chockobo. With a little bit of luck you don't need healing.

Strategy:
Ruby has insane defense (480) so limits do pathetic damage. Spells are slow. So only option for fast victory is regular attacks with ultimate weapons. The only two persons that can constantly do ~9999 are Barret and Vincent.

To speed things up we will use 4 cut + 3xMime which is 16 hits per cycle ~ 160k dmg/cycle. So we need 5 cycles and one extra 4cut
*cycle - Ruby hits two times, we counter 3 times and give 1 command.

This strategy works perfect, because we can use first cycle for Hero Drinks.

No Healing?
Well after couple of tries I found that Ruby always do a deadly combo: Right Tentacle + Ray/Flame. Even with Mystyle, 4 Hero Drinks and Sadnes it is 100% KO. Only Ziedrich could save me from this combo. Actually it is so good, that with a little bit of luck I don't need healing ^^
But using Ziedrich means that we have only 8 slots, so no HP Plus, no stat boost, no Enemy Skills,... and only 1 spot for AP boosting. Lucky for me the damage is 9700+ with Bahamut Zero (remember the goal is to get gold chockobo and KoTR after this battle^^)

My stratergy is have only cloud alive, go in with limit (omni-slash), use limit, then mine it but i think your stratergy might be better. Well done for figuring it out!

As I explained in the info, limits are not good choice, because their damage is low. Although I like Cloud, the damage of his ultimate weapon decreases with his HP drop. It is still doable, but my guess is that it takes long time (and extra grinding for max of some stats).

@SquallSf I've beat Ruby once and my stratergy was the way i beat it, DUH. I didnt max out his stats and i didnt use his ultimate weapon because i wanted to triple the amount of AP (or whatever its called to level up my materia) it did take a while and a few attemps though. I might have to steal your stratergy for my next playthrough, its been a while, i might have to start after beating VIII :P

Nice method. You must have gotten really lucky or something because his tentacles only countered with MP damage. Usually they do around 90% of HP about half the time to me. Check out my video. I fight both Weapons in under 9 minutes with:

No cheats of any kind used

No KOTR or any other summons

No Limit Breaks used

No 7777s

No Final Attack materia

No Revive or Restore or any other magic (including Enemy Skill)

Hero Drink (medicine) is the only item used (no dazers)

As I stated "a little bit of luck" ... which means no more than 1 hit from the right tentacle (~3k damage).

My main goal for this video was to show how to beat Ruby as early as possible and take gold chokobo (without breeding, without spending days for stats).

In my opinion Cloud is one of the 2 worst choises to solo Ruby, because no max damage,damage decrease with loss of health.

P.S. I can defeat both in less than 3 min (1:30 with overflow). See it in my other videos^^

@SquallSf I already got the lion heart on Disc 1 :) Took some time getting the items from the cards though :P. I may need to look up those Omega hints, i'm currently at the lunatic pandora at the end of Disc 3, just need to get Doomtrain and i have all the GF's, Selfies only level 13 though... Ooops, i neglect the party i dont use, i'll have to level them up before disc 4.
