Support for HST

VICTORIA - There are a few people who support the HST that the government plans to introduce on July 1st

Accountants and Economists say the tax will be much easier to administrate and will save business millions of dollars.

The government predicts cities and towns on North Vancouver Island which rely on logging or mining will see an extra seven percent in their bank accounts, a boost to industries that have been hit hard during the economic slow down.

BCs Finance Minister says the money will provide the necessary capital to create new jobs.

Colin Hansen says he is already seeing renewed interest in film production in the province and thats due to the new tax making it cheaper for producers to invest in BC.

Economists say you can expect to see more investment as companies across the world look for a competitive edge.
