Elegance, anxiety and love in Natasha' first waltz at the Moscow ball with her adoring prince Andre. "Don't you just love dancing?" she (Audrey Hepburn) asks him afterward, and steals his heart away in the love story of Tolstoy's classic "War and Peace."

  • Yes, "niconwalker," I found the Russian version of their waltz at the ball and agree it's much more romantic and, to me, authentic than the American version with Hepburn. I'll try to find the entire Russian film on Netflx or somewhere. Thanks. Sid

PS--would love a translation of the Asian comments.

  • @splittree I agree while the Russian version is extremly long, there is simply no comparison. The directing, performances, costumes and sets are jsu completly stunning. While I love Audrey Hepburn, this film shows little of russia, the characters and ofcours the book.

  • I love the Russian version MUCH MUCH better!

Prince Andre in Bondarchuk's version was simply devine!
