@iandavidson1 Well, I own the domain grippressure com (a future website) because I believe that changing grip pressure during the swing, is the #1 problem. Period! What I mean is, I discovered years ago that, taking the hands out of the swing (maintain even constant grip pressure), allows the Large Muscles to take over and control the golf swing. It becomes more athletic. I hit 3-400 hundred shots a day for a month to learn to control my grip pressure during the swing. WOW! Square, Solid!
Hi Ross, sorry to go all PGA on you but what about pressure in right and left hands during the swing? Do you have a more dominant hand pressure on the grip at impact or is everything pretty even? By the way how is this style out of a bunker, any tweeks needed or play it just the same? Many thanks. Ian
@iandavidson1 At setup, the elbows point at the hips, then as you turn thru impact, they again point at the hips (tho the hips are slightly turned and still unwinding). One misconception you hear is, “Clear your hips” I disagree, you want to use your hips for power thru impact. The hips are slightly ahead and turning, but have not cleared. Your front shoulder, front hip, hands and club head, essentially form a straight line at impact, just inside your front foot, as you are turning!
A quick question regarding the full swing. With the driver for instance when using the body for power what is the exact timing? By this I mean where are the hands in relation to the back knee or hip; in front - in line or slightly behind the body at impact? Thank you for replying and I hope you find time to answer my quirey. Ian.
@iandavidson1 Yes, some practice, but more, programming confidence, in that using your turn (not hands) is way more reliable than trying to time flipping your hands at the ball. There is no need, when keeping the face constant (even with it open for loft) allows the Large Muscles to control the swing... Ross
This is something that does really work. You are right though; you have to practise it a lot, but when that's done, you have a shot you can really rely on under pressure. Vary the swing distance for longer or shorter shots.
