From the great 1986 Ian and Sylvia reunion concert comes this version of one of the two songs they recorded that jump started the career of the master Canadian singer songwriter and poet genius Gordon Lightfoot (the other being "(That's What You Get) For Lovin' Me". The video quality is not perfect but
hey this is history!!
after this Gordon solo'ed on Knotty Pine see the youtube video at:-

  • What a great show! to have Gordon Lightfoot show up and sing wit Ian and Sylvia. As an old folkie this makes me love youtube.

  • She does add to the beauty of his work, he's so talented but that extra something would be lacking without Sylvia. I realize many singers could have replaced her, but I'm glad they are Ian and Sylvia just the same.

I'm from Rochester, NY. In the early and mid-60's, I pointed the outside antenna on our TV north so I could watch Ian & Sylvia's show on CBC, before watching Hockey Night in Canada. How I wish I could have been at this show!

  • There's an awful lot out there that's fake and hype, and precious little that's authentic...this moment, however, is absolutely REAL...enjoy it

  • how can you not love this when you have three CANADIAN ICONS on the stage at the same time with such beautiful harmonization thank you for posting it wish i could get the whole concert

  • I think Ian & Sylvia nailed this song, as much as I like the other folkies who recorded it-esp. on their original album-thanks for finding and posting it-slan, Jim

  • Beautiful.
