  • I just went to my brother from churches wedding last nite and we did this exact march. They are liberian! The lIberian people are amazing!! What a great wedding!

  • @72maceo . yes it was fun. ours was led by Liberians too.

  • Compare this Grand March with the one demonstrated in the late 19th century Grand March video that is found on YouTube. They are very similar.

Btw, belated congratulations to the bride and groom! :o)

  • @Azizip17 Thank you!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • GOTTA DO THIS NEXT YEAR AT MY SISTER'S WEDDING I'M SUPER EXCITED

  • @cece2711 Im liberian and let me tell you its the African adaptation of the American South/European grand march.

  • @LJboogy27 I agree with you if they only knew that 80% of the music and dance today came from us!! LOL

  • Hmph it's crazy how people think Africans can't come up with anything themselves...

  • @cece2711-I'm not a dance historian, but I think that there are probably examples of Africans "copying off of" European dances now & in the past. I also think that Africans created dances that were improvisations of European dances. That's also true of African Americans. One example that comes to mind for African Americans is the 19th century & maybe earlier "cakewalk". That said, with all due respect, I"d love to know the name of the Liberian dance that became the European Grand March.

  • @Azizip17 You have it backwards. European proessional dancing is an adaption of this type of wedding dance tradition that originated in Liberia, West Africa. You actually think Africans would copy a European dance? I think not. lol.
