I actually appreciate the notion of climbing shirtless. I often find the heat stifling when physically active. However I know if I started going topless at the local climbing gym they would soon enact a rule requiring shirts.

I can understand why one would want to shed clothing while at any gym....however, there are those (like those douchebags in the background) that don't do it for any practical purpose. They're also the ones that grunt the loudest while climbing. It's pretty obvious they just want attention.
