When I was gleaning crushed rock gravel for the foundation of my kiln from the old Hayes pit I found a rock that had weathered exposed in place into a small pile of mostly powder so I saved it for a colorant.

  • Nice work, Gary. Good to see local materials being used. I will be interested to see how the pot comes out of the kiln.

  • Good thing I video this because I don't write things down anymore and it is the only way I'll recall what I did. I think the local materials might have interesting impurities my store bought Iron oxide is missing.
