Marvilliosa coreografia "aerea" figliata da Linwood G. Dunn.

P. S.: "Carioca" è il titolo dato alla versione italiana del film: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carioca_...)

It's easy to be distracted by the visuals, but the music is also fantastic, just summing up the spirit of '30s musicals.

None of this was actual flight footage. It was done with miniatures, along with full-size planes in hangers with backdrops and blue screen. It's somewhat convincing, even today.

This probably isn't actual flight footage, most likely some sort of filming trick similar to that used in the new Denzel Washington movie.

True! Ginger wrote, that Fred dated her in NYC, after he was called in to help with some dance steps in the theater balcony. He would pick her up at her mom's apartment at midnight, when their shows were done; and dance at the casino in Central Park to Eddie Duchin's band. Ginger writes than upon their return he would give her long kisses, in the back seat of his limo, that wouldn't pass the Production Code. Their later partnership was indeed very professional. Fred's wife made sure of that!

But, I digress from the voyeurism of this scene.

Ginger and Fred had dated previously, and that may have made things a little uncomfortable during their initial scenes together (it doesn't show). Fred was married by this time. I would like to think that Fred and Ginger had a good professional relationship during their years together in the movies. The screen chemistry is definitely THERE.

This is just the beginning of the great 30s dance musicals. This clip is nothing if it's not UPBEAT! Ginger Rogers was only 22. She danced with Fred just once here. Both didn't think much of this film. But then, it went though the roof at Radio City Music Hall...the first of many "Fred and Ginger" blockbusters. This film fades out with them, not the stars. Neither wanted to be paired with the other, but they nonetheless, became arguably, the greatest film couple in cinema history!

Guess this was cutting edge excitement for 1933 moviegoers. Wasn't the girl who fell from the rubber band-powered plane lucky to land on the one below ? - Of course aircraft look better and are faster today - Girls are just faster !

Thanks for posting - love the songs of the 30's.

1:34. Naked. Shame. Other than that, lots of fun.
