Sometimes things just go wrong or don't quite follow the plan, this was one of those occasions. Filmed passing through Rugeley Trent Valley on Saturday 10th September 2011 is 60613 "Tornado" on the Cathedrals Express from London Euston to Chester. Firstly the London Bound stopping train arrived at Platform 3 moments before the tour passed through which necessitated a quick run down the platform to re-position (and hence why on the pan around the picture isn't quite level as I didn't have time to re-adjust the tripod correctly, apologies) but as she passed through, she was duly overtaken by a northbound Class 390 on the fast line, somewhat spoiling the sequence as I'm sure you can understand, there were several disappointing photographers standing around me as I'm sure you can hear on the audio track! I hope you enjoy the video nonetheless.
60163 Tornado is a main-line steam locomotive built in Darlington, England. Completed in 2008, Tornado was the first such locomotive built in the United Kingdom since Evening Star, the last steam locomotive built by British Railways, in 1960. Designed to meet modern safety and certification standards, Tornado runs on the UK rail network and on mainline-connected heritage railways. The locomotive is named after the Panavia Tornado military jet. The locomotive was built by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, a charitable trust founded in 1990 to build Tornado and possibly further locomotives. Tornado was conceived as an evolution of the LNER Peppercorn Class A1 class, incorporating improvements likely had steam continued, and changes for cost, safety, manufacturing and operational benefits, while replicating the original design's sound and appearance. Hello again, I am intrigued. I have seen a film of yours where you're standing on the Down Platform so you weren't bowled. This film is from the Up platform, hence the problem. Were you remotely operating one camera? Barry

@bkendlerA4 Hi, I only have one camera, and both of my sequences were recorded from the same spot on Platform 3

@dj205205 Occupational hazard of filming on a busy stretch of mainline I guess. The reason why I choose this spot to film from is because it gives a good unobstructed (apart from other trains occasionally!) view from left to right and vice-verse through the station. The view is more restricted in terms of that kind of view from the other side.
