Why are people coming unglued in their comments? The professor is simply giving a recount of history and he's absolutely right. It was only after man settled in villages and started farming the land that the idea of "MY OX," "MY LAND," MY GRAIN," "MY HOUSE," "MY WIFE," etc. came into being. Patriarchy, territoriality, war, and other negative, ego-based behavior of civ came into being with the onset of agrarian society. That's a simple fact, and it's not a terribly difficult concept to grasp.
