first of all, i deeply deeply love r.e.m. i first saw them in 1982 at the late, lamented joe's star lounge, in ann arbor michigan and have every single album (plus a couple of imports and e.p.'s including a first press of "chronic town")...but michael stipe was and always will be a pretentious twit.
