On February 11, 2011 President Obama spoke about the Egyptian People's peaceful revolution. He said the people in Tahrir Square were chanting "Selmiyya" which means "we are peaceful." That inspired me to create this piece. The singers are Earl Buffington, Cydney Davis, Rahman, Leah Zeger, Wael Kakish, Issam Tahan, Lamia Bolutin and Lana Khalaf and me. Mussa Nasser plays the Qanun. Roy Wiegand plays the trombone. Roy Wiegand III, trumpet. David Crozier, flute. Leah Zeger and Steve Huber, violins. Ravi Knypstra plays the awesome bass and Bruce Becker plays 6 layers of drums and percussion. Michael Woodrum engineered at his SoundMoves Studio in Burbank California.
