I live in canada and really wanted to homeschool/unschool my children before I even had any. when my oldest daughter was school aged children's aid became involved and told me that parents who homeschool their children are only doing so to hide abuse, and proceeded to court order me to send them to school.

@kev3d I went to a shitty public school, but was taught all that you have said because we were viewed as having no future other then debt.

@1776Matthew Oh, I'm sorry, what was I peddling? Rationality? Logic? Yeah your right, it is stupid to try and promote the idea of a united world. With people like you in it it ain't gonna happen anyway.
What I am trying to say is take your whiny, negative ass opinions elsewhere.

@TasteOfGreen Go convince the Chinese that their borders are imaginary. Convince the Saudis. Convince the Indians.
CONVINCE THE ISRAELIS.
Convince the Tibetans, who you probably bled your heart out for when their nation was being violated by the Chinese.
Then get back to me.
On second though, don't bother getting back to me. What I'm trying to say is peddle your shit elsewhere.

@1776Matthew Boarders are imaginary, they are only going to keep existing if you keep seeing them. Nationalism is the modern equivalent of tribalism.
"Nationalism is an infantile disease, it is the measles of mankind." -Albert Einstein
I attended a fairly highly rated series of public schools in the 80s and 90s. In retrospect I am shocked we were never taught; How to balance a checkbook, how to establish and maintain good credit, how to apply for a home or small business loan and so on. We did spend a month on Whales however and we dissected a frog, useful stuff in the real world where we are under constant frog attack and our streets are littered with Baleen.

"Every child in America entering school at the age of five is insane because he comes to school with certain allegiances to our founding fathers, toward our elected officials, toward his parents, toward a belief in a supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity. It's up to you as teachers to make all these sick children well--by creating the international child of the future." ~ Dr. Chester M. Pierce, Professor of Education at Harvard
