What does this pigeon behavior mean?

This looks so funny, as I'm not a pigeon expert, I don't know what the bird is doing! She's like scraping the ground and shaking her (his?) lower body ~ what is this? Some mating dance, or trying to build a nest?! I have no idea.

You were right; not much longer after this video was filmed, she made two eggs! So she's a girl for sure now, and yes it was some nest building behavior. :)

I've got a male dove that does the same thing occasionaly in my lap. I think he just wants to carve out a nice place to take a nap.

well jojo I have a female pigeon too and she lays eggs every now and then...I asked a pigeon forum why she layed eggs and they said it's because she considers her care taker her mate....bahahhaa so your pigeon thinks your her mate :)
