I found this clip, and am now laughing. The Southern Illinois Salukis are playing South Dakota State Jackrabbits next weekend in football...hope this video foreshadows the outcome next Saturday.

people say salukis are good all rounders there not in hard rough weather there just fanny lickin things ive seen many and had many to no im runin saluki bull crosses at the minute and theres nothing better id put them against anything in the country for the ryt price

tbf you can get a saluki to do anything as long as you arn't too hard on it, the saluki is my ulimate perfect coursing beasst, had two merlin/eve decendents and i would never be without one, they never fizzle and always bring back live to hand , unless you ant had them out for a while, keep your bull and collie crosses as faras im concerned, saluki or saluki x greyhound any day

@Tunknatar not in the desert u muppet.

It doesnt matter that greyhound is faster, Saluki has MUCH better stamina.
-
greyhounds are faster the saluki's period no questions asked
its too hard to get a saluki to chase a hare on a track.otherwise, theres a VERY good chance they are as fast or faster than a greyhound.gazelles =55mph,greyhounds=45 and salukis were bred to chase down gazelles.

Greyhound can reach a speed of 80kph but for only short distance maximum 600meters.were salukis can reach a speed of 65kph for a distance of more than 6000mteters the difference here is the endurance .

Lovely work!My afghan hound works in a similar way. I would love to have those open spaces as she has to work in fields. The rabbits then often get under a hedge, which should please the antihunting brigade. She just loves the chase as that is what she is meant to do. My next dog will be a saluki!
