  • Great tips. Leave the guy alone. He's laid back, informative, well educated in the subject matter and within the industry. It's a gardening how-to, not a filmography how-to, and he's likely working on resurrecting a neglected lawn.

Flip on MTV or G4 if you want music paired with idiots talking about real world activities.

  • Hey @ScampiandLemon! It is sand with iron and phosphorus contained that is often used to create good texture. Most "Lawn and Garden Soil" will have this mixed in there so look on the bag in your local garden supply store.

  • As mentioned, can someone explain what orange sand is? It may be called something different in the UK?

  • ZOMBIE....

  • @billicp Oh any make sure you never cut the lawn in when its hot and in direct sun light you will burn the tips of the lawn. And it will take longer to recover :-) follow this and in the summer you will have a perfect lawn

  • @billicp After you have put the lawn seed down. Cover with Topsoil & a Mix of sharp sand with some Dry dust Manure and Fish blood and bone meal. And brush in lightly. Then keep watered. When the new grass gets 6cm tal Cut it. Keep the grass cut once - twice a week at the same hight of 1-1.5 inch grass length. Keeping you grass at the same hight will help it thicken out. Make sure the lawn mower blade are super sharp like a kitchen knife so the grass will recover faster.

  • Holly crap !!!!

Erm maybe before you even think about leveling the lawn you should get some 1st.

Get some weed killer onto the lawn water it in leave it for 7-14 days. Cut the lawn as low as you can . Drum mower will slice of high spots. Then scarify the lawn up and down left to right till there is no weeds and moss left. Get a Fork or a Aerator. Put plenty of holes into the lawn to help draining. Get some Sharp sand and brush it into the lawn and holes. Then Apply Lawn seed all over.

  • @johnstuartmay I think it's a weed bed not a lawn ;)

  • Dont be a prat.Its just called a rake.
