Since Ethan was 4 months we have been doing this "Your Baby Can Read" program with Ethan. It involes DVD's, flash cards and books. I will add more video's to show you how great the program is and how much Ethan loves it.

i downloaded this and watched them all with my 3 month old. she is interested in the videos. but i think the videos go from one word to the next too fast. id rather make my own flash cards then waste money on this gimmick... i have a strong backround in sales and this is just playing on you the Consumers desire to make your child smarter... just turn subtitles on everything your watching so your child can see words that way. and make flash cards.

Did the program work well for you? We're planning on babies soon and I really wanted to get this before he or she is born! :D

@blibjorb My thoughts are, it's going to happen anyway, especially if you have other children in the house. Not only that, we have children 7-12 years old running around with a cell phone, as if that isn't damaging? I wouldn't think staring straight into a ceiling fan light would be any better for their eyes but that happens as well. I don't think a few minutes of screen time through out a productive activity filled day is so bad honestly, you just have to know your limits

@rainynorthwest I don't think any sane parent plans on depending this product alone to educate their child, obviously anybody who has a child will be bringing them around adults and spending time with them, if not they shouldn't have a child in the first place, there being no reason to buy this product in the first place, so I wouldn't worry. I have this product and we as a family watch about 15-20 minutes and explain to our son what he is learning.

@dmj081809 I give an equal ammount of attention and learning tools to my child. TV isn't the greatest thing for them but kids everywhere have themselves glued to some sort of electronic device, Cell phones cause radiation, TV causes eyesight problems, Computers cause brain damage, I mean really...nothing is good for kids anymore, too much sun, too much juice, too much stimulation, not enough stimulation. It all depends on the parenting.

@dmj081809 I leave programs like this on while my son and I are playing, I don't force him to watch it, but we live in a very active household, something like a TV, Computer is always on and my son always stares at the screen of one of them, I wouldn't suggest he stare into a bright ceiling lamp but he does that too when feeding, I mean what can ya do? Cut the power in your house and live like a caveman, it's going to happen either way. Also, nothing is good for kids anymore.

For all the goofs out there saying "It doesn't teach children to pronounce their words" That's what the PARENT is for, any good parent will not just stick their child in front of the TV and leave them. My advice would be to sit there and watch it with your child and pronounce it with them, this is not a bad product, if any bad results came from this program it isn't the program itself, it's called BAD PARENTING.
