Captive insect-eating bats are fed mealworms, which is the closest we can get to their natural food source. Mealworms are the larva of flour beetles. They are kept in grain and are also fed potatoes and apples (moisture food). This footage was sped up to show what mealworms do to moisture food over an eight hour period.
