Shine! Winner: Stephenie Tiew

Stephanie is the winner of the Shine! International Student Awards 2008. Since coming to the UK in 2005, Stephenie, a medical student, has demonstrated a clear passion for working with children and babies. She has been awarded the prestigious Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Student Prize, and was invited to present one of her papers at an international conference.

Along with some of her fellow students at Manchester, she established the 'Save a Baby's Life Society'. The group goes into local communities to teach basic life support skills to parents and carers of babies. In addition to running the workshops, Stephenie fundraises for the society.
