here's a quick interesting listing and summary of the people and nations who invaded the Italian Island of "Sicily" from B.C. to A.D., through the centuries, and who mixed their seed with some of them...with German and Greek people invading, and why you have some blond-haired blue-eyed Sicilians and why you have some swarthier Sicilians. Or light Middle-Eastern looking.
You have light and darker Sicilians. (But all still "white".) A brief look at this fascinating European Island, with those who invaded and mingled some of their seed and genetics in it, in a very brief yet informative nutshell.

  • @MsAppassionata don't know why you're here barfing this old desperate junk. That was already answered, that the word "black" was a broad term used by Shakespeare to refer TO EVEN PALE ARABS, back at that time. And that there are paintings and sketches of Moors that were LIGHT. As for Othello, well that's Hollywood stupidity as usual. You should really be saying this stuff on my other video called "Were Moors 'Black'?" Go to that one... Thanks... At: watch?v=alDGX0xwjDE

  • @HistoryArchiver (continued) words used by Europeans that are also derived from that word such as mora (Spanish and Italian for blackberry- a noun which originally meant Moorish woman), moreno (adjective for dark complexioned, which now means brunette), moricaund (French for dark skinned or blackamoor), morillion = black grape), moraiola (Italian for black olive) and so on. I think that you're the one who is a Euro-Centrist lunatic.

  • @HistoryArchiver Why is it then that when you see paintings of Moors done by Europeans they usually are depicted as being black (like Wesley Snipes)? Why is it then that when White actors play Othello they put on dark makeup and often wear wooly haired wigs? The curly-haired, thick-lipped Aaron in Titus Andronicus is also described as a Moor. The term"Moor" was used , during the European Renaissance, by explorers, writers, and scholars to refer to blacks in general. There are

  • @shieldsff ok, what you need to check out are my other videos, one of them named "The Truth About Italian DNA"...and another one named "Viking Blood in Sicilians!!!". Look in my list, and find those two, and watch the vids, and see some pics of people there, Italians, etc.

  • @HistoryArchiver - thanks this was interesting and informative ! I'm looking forward to my first (official) trip to Italy next year.( I only driven a little over the northern borden). In conjunction with this vid, could you post some pics of what the modern pple look like ? In my mind the main picture is always the dark hair and olive green skin tone - so beautiful !

  • @Bcarde8 I didn't read your comment, because I told you to comment THERE...on THAT video. Why didn't you? If you saw the video, what was the reason you simply didn't leave your thoughts there? That's what I asked. For some reason you didn't do it. That's why I did not read all of your comment here. Go to that video, please, and leave your thoughts there. (Or be blocked.) If you comment on this page again, I'll block you immediately without even reading a word. So go there. Thanks.
