Nope, taegwondo never came from taekkyeon because the original TGD masters were solely practitioners to karate, jujutsu, and Chinese boxing.

real taekkyeon is equal parts upper body and lower body, all advanced drills use "whole body power". But general, Traditional Korean style is 70% lower body in the beginning movingto 50/50 after some number of years. The real Taekkyeon footwork and step training is the same. Strong, well aligned legs, hips, feet, knees, is a must for armwork. thanks
