@ilove17horses five more hamsters just don't put the other hamster/hamsters because they might try to fight the babies and or the mom. You could try it though if they fight seperate them, if they don't you can put them together. :)

@ilove17horses if you have any other hamsters besides the mom take them unto a seperate cage, never touch the babies until about 3 weeks or the mom will kill it because it has your scent, you don't have to feed the baby hamsters because the mom feeds them but you have to feed the mom of course, thats it now you will have about

@ilove17horses when the babys get fur then you can sprinkle oats in the nest, if they eat the oats then they can move onto brocalie. my pups love brocalie.

@snapefan85 Only bedding that is very heavy in pine dust will cause any respiratory problems, but those will likely be very fine grained dusts that will have settled to the bottom of the bag, thus only getting in the cage if placed, and once again will settle to the bottom. The larger problem is dyes and cedar. Dyed beddings and dye from ink such as newsprint is harmful. Dyed bedding as well as cedar bedding (due to the cedar oil) can cause digestive tract problems, kidney failure, even death.

@jessesaurusrex6661 Actually, the type of pine bedding you purchase determines how much dust there is. The safest bedding to get is that meant for large animals, but specifically for their young- especially horses. Large animals with sensitive young are actually more sensitive than small animals, so if a bedding is safe for fowls it is safe for hamsters as well.

@Jrde2011 Not eating them, cleaning them. Natural insticts are kicking in and any birthing fluid, blood, placenta, bodily excrement will be eaten in an attempt to "mask their location" from a "predator" and avoid detection.
what is the best bedding to use i have been using pine cause the petstore told me i could and its cheap are there any other cheap ones i can use or is pine ok
