  • I like that overplayed steel guitar! You can't find a steel guitar in this crap they call country music today. Then you put a blessed voice like this man had with that steel you have magic!

  • Faron was perhaps the greatest Honky Tonk singer that ever hit Nashville. He was a great stylist in his voicings and tone capabilities.

Miss him and his music. He will live on forever....

  • I believe the tall fiddler on the right side is Curt Burrell, who I worked with in Ft Collins Colorado back in the 70"s. Curt also played for Patsy Cline. Curt was an excellent singer and front man. Curt has passed on.

  • Ahh Hahh... awwh Sang it Farun.. They'll be no other. He put the honk in Honky Tonk...

  • As for Crawford and overplaying? 'Scuse me? He hired Jimmy Crawford. You don't get restraint and half notes from him, and Faron knew it. Faron LIKED energy from his band.

  • @pedalman, I'd put his phrasing up there with Frank. Above George. And I love how he always got great energy out of the band.

  • @BBAILEY446 Hi Mr Bailey.... Thank-you for posting. Curt Burrell was my Dad. He dies on June 1st 1994. It is so awesome to have this!!

    Sincerely,

    Judy (Burrell) Saxby

  • @BBAILEY466 ... Curt Burrell is my uncle... I would love to hear any stories you have about him sometime! He was a very talented musician... thank you for sharing :)

  • The Fiddle player n the right as you view, is Curt Burrell, a man I met in Ft Collins Colorado when I lived there. He once played for Patsy Cline as I was told by him. We worked together in a band there with a former member of the Sons Of The Pioneers, Bob Mincer, and a drummer named Charley Hill. We played a lot of faron Young and Sons Of Pioneer music. Curt passed on a long time ago, so I was shocked to come across a video of him when he was so young and hansome. RIP Curt.
