General Motors has unveiled the Chevrolet Volt concept, the company's first plug-in hybrid vehicle, at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Chevrolet Volt concept is the first vehicle to use GM's new E-flex family of propulsion systems. GM claims the Volt delivers triple-digit fuel economy and can travel up to 640 miles without a fuel fill-up or a battery recharge.

  • fuck hibrid go electric

  • I want this car!!!! then take out the electric battery cell instead put a V8 5.0L on it !!!

  • Yes you are right. I made a terrible mistake on information. But I never stated Nimh wasn't reliable. I just stated they aren't as reliable as Li-ion. There is a reason why Nimh was replaced my Li-ion in most portable electronics(cellphone, ipods, etc) and in the hobbygrade RC car industry. Nimh is probably the second best battery technology created. I like Lipo but they are unstable in some conditions, can't handle abuse, and need to be monitored more offend.

  • im talking about patents here they cant sell LG chem its an indepenedent Korean company as big as GE

    LG stands for Lucky Goldstar

i don't think you know what your talking about Lion has higher voltage per cell than nimh 3.6 agains 1.2 volts and lion has higher capacity per weight/size not lower.

nihm not reliable? there are hundereds of toyota rav4 EV still on the road over with 100,00k miles still on original battery

1.5 million prius sold still on the road not reliable ????

  • im sorry 220-230 volt outlet

  • Yes, but nickel metal hydride(nimh) aren't has reliable, can develop memory affects and are more harmful then Lithium ion. Naturaly Lithium ion batteries supply higher discharges rating while having slight lower voltage and mah. But they are a much better then what the EV-1 had. Plus they can recharge at a much higher rate(3hours on using 270v outlet). Most of today's hybrids use Nimh. I doubt Gm is going to sell LG Chem to any oil company.
