you're right. I'm just saying that some people think Cantonese is a different language, and when they say Chinese they mean Mandarin. My Grandparents spoke Hakka, which is of course, Chinese, too.

Shouldn't it be that Mandarin and Cantonese are Chinese? Chinese is like the big general category that everything falls under.

quite good - just need more head voice on the higher notes

alan, great voice. you have better voice than alan tam.

What is really annoying is that a lot of people get confused about Cantonese and Manderin. Not just non-Chinese people, but Chinese people themselves get the words wrongs. Chinese is a language and both Cantonese and Manderin are dialects of that language. You get a lot of Cantonese people who treat it as another language and non-Cantonese people treating the Cantonese dialect with a slight degree of disdain.

Cantonese is Chinese. Perhaps when you say Chinese, you mean Mandarin.

u sing cantonese more nicer, propably the diction of cantonese,i also sing both chinese and cantonese quite good, but cantonese ok ok only.but ppl say i sing his cantonese song more feeling...
hmm, i think that you're a pretty good singer just that, rather than trying to sing in the style of jacky cheung, try finding a style that works better for your voice or rather find a style that would really project the better details to your singing voice, but you are a good singer.
