A priest and 3 nuns were ambushed by the Contras; when 2 nuns were murdered. One of the 2 nuns was an American, Sister Maureen Courtney. The vehicle they were in was riddled with bullets. The nuns were killed because they were working in a community that had poor farmers. The rule of the contras is that if you are a farmer, you are a suspect. All those affiliated are also suspects. Other catholic clergy from that region stated unequivocally that the ambush was the work of the contras.

If you don't know that a large segment of the current national debt was created by Reagan's defense industry bailout and expansions of government then you just don't know anything about federal finances. No wonder you are so easily being used as a tool in the health care debate.

You should take the time to study some history, Eagle. With the opening of the Soviet archives most historians now agree that Ronald Reagan's policies had very little to do with the collapse of the USSR. Anyone other than a dedicated Marxist who studied macroeconomics in the 1970s knew that the fall of Soviet communism was a fait accompli. You Republicans have spent 20 years and millions of dollars trying to convince people that corrupt Hollywood airhead deserved credit for it when he didn't

The reality is, when you committed so many sins for so long, the fix IS painful. Unemployment shortly after than shrank to levels far lower than anything Carter did or would have done. Reagan just had the balls to step back and allow the pain, so we could emerge stronger. Every economical stat was stronger leaving the Reagan admin, than it was when he took over. Lower interest rates, lower unemployment, lower inflation, a stronger dollar, all of it.Thank Carter for having to experience the pain.

And seriously, try looking at some real history not that faith based crap they feed you on Faux News. The statistics on unemployment are a matter of public record. You seem to think that the facts have some kinda liberal bias. One more time. The US unemployment rate when Reagan took office was 7.2% Unemployment rose to 10.8% in the first 2 years after Reagan took office. But you know what corrupt Hollywood airhead Ronald Reagan said about facts:

And seriously, unemployment was far higher when he took office, try looking at the real numbers than that BS they feed you at the DNC. 6 more months under Carter and it would have been 1929 again. That election didn't come soon enough.
