i don't want to defend nasa, i couldn't care less to be honest, but accusing them to be retarded after all they do every day, space telescopes deep space observation and all that comes with it, takes the biggest geniuses money can buy, it's just that this event surprised everybody and this comet was tougher than it seemed. i don't see a failure here, instead bringing them down this way is.

@sangstar1 comets are made of ROCK and ice and other frozen gasses, radiations from the sun create their tails and make them glow by ionisation of their particles because of an electromagnetical reaction, they're not ice lollies otherwise they would all melt at every passage instead they only lose a tiny percentage of their mass. this is the reason why they have a PHD and you don't

@AstroGondola I told you comets are not compose of water and ice because there is not enough water on them to make those huge coma and tail. Comets are solid objects some of them are planet size such as the one on October 1, 2011. But I say again that they are not what those stooges at NASA has been saying to the public and teaching to their students.
