@powerrangerfan68 if your guinea pig does that purring sound it mean that its like a mating call. most male guinea pigs do this. they wont bite or try to hurt you when they purr.it just a mating call. i also have 2 male guinea pigs and they purr all the time. :) if u would like anymore info u may message me on youtube or email me at clcdb@yahoo.com :) hope this helped and good luck with your guinea pig :o)

@pbkid201 He will slowly come out and take it and mostly likely run away to eat it. Keep doing this until he doesnt run away. Then you can attempt to hold him but feed him while you are holding him so he sees that its good to be held.

@pbkid201 Everyday open his cage and offer him a treat (veggies or fruit that are ok for guinea pigs) by holding it in ur hand. Give him a minute or so but if he doesnt come out shut the cage and leave him be. Then repeat this for a week and by then he should be understanding that if he wants treats he has to come to you.

cute guinea pig !!!!

@pbkid201 lift the igloo so you can pick him up.
To get your guinea pigs to come out. Ignore them while you are doing something else like watching tv. Have the door to the cage open and sit right in front of it holding a large carrot partway in cage.

Love the video, but I have to say the cage is WAY to small!

That was the cage they came in when they arrived as fosters. I moved them into a larger cage and they were adopt in the big cage a few weeks ago.

If you just got him and he was with other guinea pigs maybe you should go back and get a brother. Hold a long piece of celery and get him use to eating out of your hand. The rub his cheeks and ears while he is eating. Also, just sit next to the cage and read and talk to him.

I thought when they make that noise, it's displeasure? Mine does it all the time... :( I just got her.... I'm having trouble taming her. How did you get them to trust you so much?

Food! Hold the carrot tight and pet her ears and cheeks while she is eating it.
