I wanted him to drop it so he didn't try to eat it but he wouldn't. i was wrong to slap him as "bootydaddy36" already pointed out, it sends out the wrong message. That was just my inexperience at the time showing!

Word of advice, you never want to smack him after he's made a kill, sends him the wrong message.

@BootyDaddy36 yeah cheers your right there, i was told by a friend aswel. i wanted him to know he should drop the rat once its dead? i havent trapped another one since! something takes the bait and somehow escapes the trap! he's not a particually great hunter to be honest, sometimes he see's a rabbit and completley ignores them!
