First flight of my newly built JR Flite Streak, from the Brodak kit. We're flying on the cricket oval behind Kuraby railway station in suburban Brisbane. I am being ably assisted by my high school flying mate Steve, the first time we've flown C/L together since we finished high school 25 years ago. Yes, I let him have a fly as well, and he handled it just as well as I do.
Power is an OS MAX .15, the 1970s baffle piston version, which I much prefer to the modern OSes. I clearly need to work on finding the right needle setting, as it goes screaming lean at the start of the flight. That means the Taipan 8x4 is spinning at over 14,000 RPM and the streak is turning 4 second laps on its 50 foot lines.
