Doom was long before the xbox, so if your knowledge only applies to xbox and later consoles, you don't know about these games. Doom WAS the first FPS with multiplayer. I don't know why everyone thinks that Halo revolutionized gaming or something, because it didn't, and you shouldn't be posting comments acting like you know what you're talking about when you clearly don't.

@xjusticex2013x Doom was the first multiplayer.... and Halo IDK what it was really. Just like an updated DOOM mixed with Marathon on steroids.

@DeatgMagnet Doom 1 and Doom 2 DID have multiplayer when they came out. Check Wikipedia. "Aside from the single player game mode, Doom features two multiplayer modes playable over a network: "cooperative", in which two to four players team up, and "deathmatch", in which two to four players play against each other." Doom revolutionized the term Deathmatch and it was one of the best old school games, not for old or disabled people like COD or similar games.
